Oakland, CA (2010)
We worked closely with OMCA staff on the exhibits and AV system for their new History and Art Galleries. Exhibits included everything from simple video playback to a historical jukebox to exhibits where users could record and draw themselves. In the Story Studio recording booth, visitors have three minutes to record themselves answering questions at the kiosk. The staff can change these software prompts at any time. At Draw Yourself, visitors use a mirror and touchscreen to draw a portrait of themselves. When they are finished, the portraits are displayed on the adjacent wall among famous self portraits and the picture is emailed to the visitor. This has been one of the most popular exhibits in the museum.
