Sufism Reoriented finished their New Sanctuary building in late 2017. The mostly underground marble structure features a layout of circular classrooms, prayer halls, and performance spaces. BBI Engineering built a versatile theatrical production system throughout the building for the first phase of construction and then added professional audio and video recording/streaming studios for phase 2. The main prayer hall features geometrically corrected video projection on an 80’ dome, a robust full range audio system with steerable column array speakers, and multiple remote-controlled cameras. All of the audiovisual elements are carefully concealed in the soffit and columns of the interior structure so as not to distract from the cleanliness of the space.
