Media Production: Second Story
San Francisco, CA (2007)
Located in an 1890’s historic building in the Presidio, this media-rich exhibit tells the story of an American Icon. Technologically, the museum includes more than 100 high definition video streams with another 100 in standard definition and a few dozen computer interactives. We designed the presentation technology for the exhibits, a 150 seat lecture hall, as well as a group learning center. The “Video Ribbon” is a continuous “ribbon of film” around the gallery with (14) warped and edge blended projectors on sculpted fiberglass screen. This exhibit presents clips from various Disney movies including “Peter Pan” and “Lady and the Tramp” along with sketches and production images. The display playback system delivers a 6000×500 pixel image which is warped and blended to produce a continuous image following the twists and turns of the ribbon
